The Decisive moment in Wedding Photography

by monir

A quick photograph on why i enjoy working at Weddings. While most photographers will only focus on the Bride and Groom, I look for what the bride and groom are missing out on the big day.  Once I have captured what i need to of the main action, i go off on a walkabout looking out for quirky moments that will make the bride and groom smile and truly appreciate their wedding.

Stunning London Wedding Photography

by monir

Being part of an  Asian Wedding I get faced with many challenges,  one of them is how to capture an photograph that retains the essence of  the culture, but with a unique view, without interupting the flow of the moment.   and i think this does just that.

The Wedding story of Asma & Irfan

by monir

This wedding story, mainly focuses around the brides preparation for her big day,  the beginning of the day, quite relaxed, and serene,  her sisters around her, all getting ready and having a bit of fun, which was a contrast from when the groom arrived in a supercar, dancers and drummers on the street, topped off with an impromptu firework display.  The rest of the day was pretty much the same laughter and celebration. The biggest challenge was the bride and groom shoot, at the end around 1pm, and i had 5 minutes to shoot them (as they had a long journey down to Nottingham). but in those 5 mins  we got what we set out to achive, 5 mins, 5 locations lots of images and one very dark night!

hope you enjoy the images,  as a wedding photographer, we try to be unobtrusive and ninja like in capturing the image the bride and groom want us to.  but sometimes when the drums and playing,  the weddings cars are roaring, and the fireworks are blasting you can’t help but get involved.

Asian Wedding Photography Oslo, Norway

by monir

Well it has been a very busy summer,  one of my assignments late summer was another Asian destination wedding, over in Oslo,  Norway.  We had the privilege of being commissioned by a lovely couple, Sarmad and Zunera, to cover their Asian Wedding Celebrations, over a three-day period, We covered the Mendhi, Wedding (shaadi) and Walima.  Our team was the usual motley crew of creative and talented individuals and not forgetting the master of creativeness mr amrit basran over at ohh weddings

We spent three days with their families and friends, and everyone made us feel welcome.  Sarmad and Zunnerah, were an awesome couple to work with, they had a special connection which made taking their bride and groom moments that much easier.   The wedding was held at Oslo misjonskire,  and the walima was held at the famous Hira Hall.   Here are just a few images from the wedding.

don’t forget you can keep up-to-date with our wedding stories via twitter @monirali and facebook and if you are looking for a wedding photographer get in touch.

Asian Wedding at Capesthorne Hall

by monir

A few weeks ago, i was commissioned to document the walima for a couple, Alim & Reshma. Seems ordinary enough. Heres the big but…it was a surprise reception for the couple.  The brief story.  The couple got married in Bangladesh early in the year,  and decided when they got back to the uk, they will have a small intimate wedding meal with a choice few friends at a local restaurant.  The grooms family had other ideas. The cogs of the wedding planning had in action the sisters and brothers,  had invited more friends, booked the grand venue of Capesthorn Hall in Macclesfield and hatched a big plan.  The Bride and groom were told to meet at the restaurant as normal, when they got there a horse and carriage awaited them with a change of clothes.  under instructions they changed and headed off for a carriage ride to be greeted by 300 guests.

If you have a wedding comming up, and would like us to document the occasion for you, feel free to call monir on 0794 874 723.   see you soon.

Pre wedding Shoots -

by monir

Pre wedding shoots, is a new buzzword for a lot of photographers. but not us no. We have been  doing pre wedding shoots, engagements shoots for a few good years.  I enjoy Pre weddings shoots, as this is the time the Asian Bride and Groom, get to know me and what i do at Asian Weddings on the day.

nine times out of ten the bride and groom are so relaxed in front of the camera, we get some real awesome shots.  The benefits of a pre wedding shot for my wedding clients and myself is that we both get to learn about what each other requires from the other on the Big day.  We all know what you want from the photographer, but it also works the other way!  By the end of a pre shoot my Wedding clients know what i expect from them on the big day, so that i can provide them with the results they book me for.

Here’s a recent photograph from a pre wedding shoot back in march.  I like this shot, it was unplanned, but i just caught it at the right moment.

If your are looking for an asian wedding photographer for a pre shoot, please feel free to call me on 07984 864 723 and discuss your requirements.to see more pre shoots visit www.monirali.com
